Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal information we collect through this website and by phone, why, and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

SGNS is the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us at [email protected] or on 07563 197 043.

What we collect and why

You can browse this website without giving us any personal information. We only collect personal information when you choose to contact us, either through the contact form or by phone. This may include your name, your phone number or email address, and the details of the message or request you send us.

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, to arrange help from a volunteer, and to keep the records needed to run the scheme safely. Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interests in running the scheme and responding to the people who ask us for help. Where we hold more sensitive details about your needs, we only do so with your agreement.

Who we share it with

Your information is only seen by the people in SGNS who need it to deal with your request, such as the co-ordinator and the volunteer assigned to you. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not pass it to any other person or organisation unless you agree, or we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it to deal with your request and to meet our record keeping duties, and then we delete it securely.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or ask us to restrict how we use it. To use any of these rights, please contact us using the details above.
